The grand unveiling

HELLO folks and welcome to a blog that is definitely worth a read in every sense of the word.
My bank balance has been very sick of late and in need of a cash injection (see what I did there) so it gave me great pleasure to see the Premier League joining the other divisions for another rollercoaster year of action.
After long debate, I have decided to reveal all the secrets I have in my closet – starting with the time I was at Glanford Park late one night...oh sorry apparently it’s just gambling secrets the readers are after!
I digress, so lets dive head first into the world of gambling.

I’LL ORDER THE SPECIAL: As I scoured the betting sites of the world, I stumbled across a little gem in the rough.
Let me put this question to you...who will finish as the top north east team in the Premiership?
The obvious answer is Newcastle United, especially after proving they can grind out a result (like they did against Bolton) – something they couldn’t do before.
And with Spiderman (aka Jonas Gutierrez) on side, they have super hero strength and ability which will surely see them defeat their villains – a dodgy looking Middlesbrough side and a surprisingly capable Sunderland side who should still only make lower mid-table.
On a more sensible note, Newcastle have the quality and – after two games this season and an uncharacteristically good start – the belief to perhaps go back to the cavalier days of Kevin Keegan when the Toon Army were a team to be feared and not jeered as has been the case all to frequently in recent years.
Maybe I’m a romantic at heart but ‘The Messiah’ is back and there is something stirring in Geordieland.
And with that in mind, Betfair’s offer of 11/10 seems a foolish move which the punter should take advantage of.

TIP OF THE WEEK: This is one right out of left field so by rights it must be good!
Scottish football has delivered, potentially, a lucrative deal that involves you taking money from bookies and spending on whatever your hearts desire.
The geeks at Skybet...sorry statisticians...have ignored the dire pre-season that Hibs suffered in which they didn’t win a single game or indeed score a single goal until their fifth game.
There were even reports the squad were seen out in a field just outside Edinburgh trying to hit a barn door but failed miserably time and again.
Although their season has steadily improved with a win and a draw after an opening day defeat, the best team they will play apart from Rangers and Celtic will be Motherwell – and they are the visitors to Easter Road.
The ‘Well will be overflowing with points (that was a terrible pun but I couldn’t resist) after their second trip to Edinburgh this season already.
It just seems like one of those games – which are regular in the SPL –where the form book is tossed away as Motherwell have not become a bad team overnight.
An impressive season last year and manager Mark McGhee staying at the helm bodes Well (sorry!).
This could be the kick-start they need and I fully expect them to get the three points so 3/1 with those crazy fools at Skybet is good value.

TIP TOE AROUND THIS ONE: Why are Middlesbrough such favourites to beat Stoke at the Riverside?
Is it because they have sold some good players and replaced them with lesser quality ones?
Is it the fact that they managed to beat a rusty Spurs side on the opening day of the season?
Or maybe it’s the fact that the Stoke players will be struck down by all the smog that engulfs Teesside?
Either way Boro are no 8/13 favourites, with Boylesports, in my book!
Steer well clear of this one. Failing that, back Stoke to win or get a draw at 13/10 with SportingBet.

CAST IRON BET: It’s an interesting one for our boys as they edge over to Edgeley Park (get it?!) to take on newly promoted Stockport County.
Unless something spectacular happens – like a red card or County make United’s net twice the size of theirs – there is little to suggest the Iron will concede that many.
The central defensive roles may be being treated like musical chairs with all the new partnerships and faces being thrown in but with our Joe (Murphy) back in the side things look a bit more solid.
However United have lacked any real intent away from home, seemingly more worried with not conceding than going up the other end and remembering there is another net up there.
It will be a tight and tense affair and I’m plumping for there to be exactly 2-3 goals at 10/11 with Blue Square.

CHEEKY PUNT ON THE GIGIS: (Will appear here on Friday).

FINAL THOUGHTS: There should be some interesting fayre with a few shocks along the way.
Here’s hoping it isn’t my tips that fall foul to some under-performing swines...sorry footballers...who should play better!
I would welcome some advice in the betting field – after all we’re all in this together.
So feel free to leave any questions or comments on how your respective weekends of gambling went, and maybe point me in the right direction.
It is us against the bookies so let battle commence!
I will be back on Monday to show you just how well (or badly) I got on...good luck.
