FAO: BOB STEELS - THE SUPPORTERS DESERVE AN ANSWER| Author | Message |

It's time for the ET to start questioning the actions of Steve Wharton and co. The supporters deserve to know why those who run the club aren't able to plan ahead and tie players down to new contracts rather than just letting it get to the stage where we lose our star centre half to another club. The supporters deserve to know what the REAL intentions are for those who run SUFC. There is no intention to go back to the Championship, and the supporters are being conned. Why should we continue to spend our hard earned money to watch a team that clearly lacks ambition? Will we really break our transfer fee and sign Gillespie from Cheltenham? Doubtful. Don't worry though, Tomi Ameobi's coming and he'll save the day. Thank you to Scunthorpe United, for ruining the efforts of the players over the past couple of seasons, and thank you for giving the supporters absolutely no reason to be optimistic for the future. We've been let down far too many times to mention, but to allow Butler to go is absolutely appalling. Mr. Steels, will you and your team actually have the backbone to question those in charge, or will you do the usual and turn on the exiting player, a la Andy Keogh? Or do you not know the answer to this question yet because you haven't been told what to do by the board of SUFC? Rubbish journalism peddling spin for a rubbish football club - I guess the two go hand in hand. |

No doubt that the telegraph team will attack Butler for leaving, just like what they did when Keogh left. I had every sympathy for Keogh when he left and I have sympathy for Butler leaving. Scunthorpe United Football Club have no ambition and the telegraph team are poor. Why don't you lot get yourself down to the club and ask critical questions? We the supporters want to know why are we tracking cast offs like Ameobi, and we want to know exactly why we allowed Butler to leave for nothing? |

Again if you are unhappy with the clubs commitment to it's long suffering fans don't go, it's the only way people will stand up and listen when your not handing over your hard earned money. |

Why should I and other fans have to miss out on Scunthorpe United matches before the club listen to the fans? |

True, but sadly that is the only way the club will listen to what supporters want. |

I agree with you. The fans that are concerned on how the club is being ran right now need to make their voices heard. Nothing will get done otherwise. |

Join the revolt!! Boycott the Iron bar and the chip fat sauna under the stand and make a stand! |

Surely the ET should be questioning why SUFC aren't willing to 'risk' spending money on Steven Gillespie, a young player with potential who has scored goals in a struggling team? Do both yourselves and the football club not realise that we do need to spend money in order to bring decent players in? For the first time in many, many years we have a substantial budget, so what is being done with it? We have over £3m in the bank thanks to the sales of Sharp, Keogh and Paterson. Spending £500k on Gillespie would be good value if he gets the goals that take us back up to the 'promised land of the Championship.' After all, that's what the Club's aim is for next season, right?! The only way is down, and nothing will change while the Club isn't being held accountable. Do your job as journalists and question the actions of those at Glanford Park instead of filling your pages with spin. |

Meaning realistically the only options we have for a new manager are Crosby, Barraclough and Daws. Is that what you want? |
