Is the striker that Adkins wants then. If we manage to get him he would be a decent signing for us in my opinion. He scored a few goals last season so hopefully the club won't back away from this player.

I think we are safe to say that the Ameobi interest has ended thank goodness.

Can't say I'm all that exicted to be honest looking at his record from last season 12 in 19 is certainly impressive. But overall his goalscoring record isn't great in fact it's quite poor. Thing is we'll sign this player for £50,000 (if we agree personal terms of course) and then we'll maybe spend another £100,000 or so on another couple of players that probably have potential but will they be up to the job of getting us straight back up? Doubt it.

We have plenty of money and we should be showing more ambition than going after Southend rejects at bargain basement prices. Hooper would be a good squad player but he'll probably end up as our BIG summer signing which isn't good enough.

We'll never be safe from the threat of Ameobi while Adkins is at the club, if he doesn't sign this summer he will do next imo.

His goalscoring record for last season was good. He hasn't done much else to be honest before that. I have mixed feelings about this potential signing. It's a well better target than Ameobi but I would have had Gillespie here instead though. 500k wudn't have been too much surely. I obviously would like the club to get Hooper because of his scoring record last season. It seems like he has potential to be a good player. 50k is not much of a gamble in my opinion.

You were told? Do you mean you read it on Iron-Bru?

No I did not read Iron-Bru. A mate of mine told me that Hooper stayed at Forest Pines.

It was good to see him score his first goals for us on Saturday.

Good goals they were too. Hopefully the first of many!

They were good goals no doubt. I thought the lob was the best goal. It kind of reminded me of Jamie Forrister. He used to do a load of lobs and score.
