Credit where credit is due. Nigel Adkins has now managed to secure the services of three good players to replace those that have left us. The only one I was sorry to see go was Andy Butler but a suitable replacement has been found in Kenny Milne.
Gary Hooper will do well for us because there will be a battle for the starting place this term. Garry Thompson can supply and we have a decent chance of scoring goals with the strikers we now have.
Will Michael Lea join us? I think so otherwise he would not be at the training camp. He will be good cover for if Williams goes AWOL again.
After the frustrating summer break I honestly think we have as good or ever better team than last season. We will certainly be a force to be reckoned with and now stand a REAL chance of challenging for the Championship again.
The biggest challenge we now have is to keep Murphy. A good start to the season may see him stay, otherwise come January he may well see his future elsewhere.
COME ON YOU IRON!!

3 good players? You seen them all play? I'll reserve my judgement on all three until I've seen them play thanks. To be fair Thompson comes with a good rep as does Hooper although from the League below. Hooper couldn't cut it in this league with Southend remember. Heard mixed reviews on Milne. We still need to sign more players imo.

Yes. Seen Thompson, heard good reviews about Hooper. All the interest shown in him also has some bearing. I have work colleagues at Grangemouth that support Falkirk. They tell me that Milne can be a handful on a good day.
Agreed Hooper needs more experience. He is only 20 and just coming to his prime. I think he will do well.
I agree we still need more players. With the money we have to spend we can afford some decent ones.
WE ALSO NEED MORE SUPPORTERS!!

Thompson is better than Taylor.
Milne can be as god as Butler.
Hooper is a young hungry striker who could easily be as good as Paterson.
I'm optimistic.

I know I shudn't make a judgement on pre season games but this is how I have seen the new signings so far.

Milne has been fantastic for us so far, he has formed a good partnership with Izzy at centre back.

Lea will be genuine competition for Williams. That's what we needed competition for Williams at left back.

Thompson for me has been dissapointing so far. He has been non existent in the games he has played in pre season. I just hope he delivers on the games that matter starting on Saturday.

Hooper looks promising. I know he didn't score a goal until the Grimsby game but he was unlucky not to score at Rotherham when he hit the bar. Hooper also has a lot of pace and he looks quite lively. He gave the codhead defenders a terrible time on Saturday.

I think we can go for a playoff push. I think automatic promotion is unrealistic this time with the likes of Leeds, Leicester, with Peterborough and MK Dons also challenging for the top spots with decent money behind them.

I think we can win this league hands down the defence looks top notch Izzy and Milne great pairing.

Midfield I think lacks a decent holding player- Wright won't cut it even at this level.
Going forward from midfield Hurst Thompson and McCann will be ejoyable to watch.

As for the strikers id start with Hayes and Hooper- the new Sharp and Keogh ok maybe not that good but you get the picture.

Up the IRON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like your optomism. If that's how you spell it I don't think we will win the league but who knows.
